Snowboarding is becoming increasingly popular each year. When the sport was first developed there were very few manufacturers of the snowboard. Nowadays we are seeing an increase in the makers of snowboards and different aspects are being incorporated into the production of the new snowboards. Burton is one of the most popular brands of boards that are now available and the price shows it. These snowboards usually come with all of the premium trimmings and really cool graphics. You are sure to grab attention with a Burton board. Burton also offers apparel and snowboarding accessories such as bags to transport and store your board in. Expect to pay upwards of several hundred dollars for a Burton snowboard; however there are places where you can purchase discount Burton boards or even used Burton snowboards and this can save you quite a bit of money.
Boots and Bindings for your Snowboards You are going to be looking for boots that fit your feet as close as possible not too loose. If your boots are loose you will not have the needed control and if they are too tight you will be in misery. This is really important...size!!!! They also need to be able to keep your feet warm so when looking at boots dont always rely on the cheaper price tag as they may not be warm enough. Look for a good lining in your boot as well as some good cushion. The boots need to be flexible and allow you good control for speed and direction of your board. When the boots are too stiff you will have a greater risk of falling. Your binding will be determined by the boot you choose. Try on all your options in the store before taking them out on the snow. Also make sure the store offers a good return policy before you purchase. If your boots dont work then you wont be out the money. Again for a beginner check out the used snowboard boots and bindings.
A con about buying used snowboards is that you wont get to pick your own design. Of course used ones are the ones the previous owner having the board with their design but if youre starting off that wont matter much since youre just experimenting and testing to see what kind of board is right for you when you start off with this sport. As time goes on you have more experience and a good feel of what is good and bad for you in a board and then you can invest in a new snowboard for you since snowboards are not cheap when they are brand new. But remember like I said there are always discounts lurking around. You just have to find them. For beginners like I said in the earlier articles you want a short board just like freestylers since it will be easy for you to maneuver. Also boot size is also important when picking out a used snowboard since not all boards are the same sizes. You dont want your toes and heels to be grinding against the snow when you ride. Itll be a pain in the ass.
Just because the boards may be made differently doesnt mean that the womens boards are lower quality than a mans board. Snowboard manufacturers have to take into account several different things when designing boards for the two different sexes and they understand that women are just as competitive as men in this sport. So remember just because you are using a womens snowboard doesnt mean that the quality has been sacrificed in any way. Sims boards seems to be limited in the sizing options that are available per board. Yes a few may be offered in three different sizes; however many of the boards are either offered in only one size or two. This could hinder someones performance level if they settle for a board that is less than the optimum size for their frame and in turn could be costing Sims sales.
